My focus for the next three months is strength training.
At a very beginner level.
So today I made a kettlebell out of a jug of fabric softener.
It worked OK, but it wasn’t quite heavy enough, so I added a couple of dumbbells.
This will have to do for now.
Are you like that? Making do with whatcha got?
Maybe if I can be consistent and keep it up, I’ll invest in better tools.
But for now, I’m just getting started.
And that feels pretty good.
I had labs drawn last week, and the numbers were much improved. Yay!
I’m also feeling much better. I have more energy. The fatigue still sets me down sometimes, but not nearly as often as before.
My joint pain is less.
I’ve lost somewhere between 15 and 17 pounds. (I didn’t weigh myself when I started, so I’m not exactly sure.)
And the brain fog is gone.
Hallelujah!
So the plan is simple:
Keep on keeping on.
Same boring food. Check.
I’m over two months in with beans for breakfast – and I still love it.
A few minor tweaks. Swapping the ranch dressing for Greek yogurt mixed with ranch seasoning.
And now, adding strength training.
Nothing fancy. Nothing extreme.
Just another small thing I can do to take care of myself and get a little stronger.
Then we’ll see what the next labs look like in a few months.
For now, I’m going to keep showing up.
Steady Strength. Steady Life.
